"Atlanta," The Actor Says Donald Glover Was All-In For "Teddy Perkins" Paper
That was, uh, weird.
Those who look to Atlanta on Friday night (April 6) you may have noticed the character of the episode revolved around — Teddy Perkins — looked like Michael Jackson had risen from the dead. Not only that, Perkins carried the same gestures as Donald Glover, to raise suspicions in reality, was the co-creator put on whiteface.
Lo and behold, Perkins, was played by Glover, who immerses himself in white makeup for the role.
The #teddyperkins episode was just wow. #DonaldGlover and everyone involved are brilliant #Atlanta #AtlantaFX

Fellow Atlanta actor Derrick Haywood, confirmed the news to Vulture, explaining, "at first, I had no idea that Teddy Perkins was actually played by Donald Glover. Not only Glover, game of Teddy became Teddy on set, staying in character as the shadow of the figure – pasty makeup, wig, high-pitched voice and everything behind-the-scenes".
"The director [Hiro Murai] called 'Teddy' [in the game] and said, 'Let's see what Teddy thinks,'" he continues. "I'm like, 'Well, who is this Teddy guy and why is his opinion so important?' When I say that this guy was in character all the time, it was just amazing the commitment that he brought. We were calling Teddy, he acted like Teddy – had not the Donald on the set of any kind."
Hello. how we do #AtlantaFX
