Chance The Rapper Apologizes For "Short Time" Of Kanye West Tweets

"It is my fault I do."

Chance The Rapper did some damage control via Twitter on Friday morning (April 27).

During one of Kanye West's recent pro-Donald Trump tweetstorms, Opportunity apparently defended his companion from Chicago, "Black people don't have to be democrats."

But after seeing the Triumph of the last tweet about You — which included a Chance of shoutout — Lil Chano clearly felt obliged to clarify its policy stance, while continuing to show compassion for the GOOD Music boss.

Trump wrote, "Kanye West has performed a great service to the Black Community – Great things are happening and are opening the eyes for the first time in Decades – the Legacy of Things! Thanks also to the Opportunity, and Dr. Darrell Scott, which, in fact, (the lowest Black And Hispanic unemployment in history)."

Opportunity to quickly shut the POTUS down, "Nah that's not me."

Nah, not I

From there, the Grammy Award-winning rapper went on a lengthy explanation about where he was coming from and apologized to all his fans.

"Kanye West is not only a mentor, or big homie to me," he wrote. "He is my family. No matter how much I disagree with him, it is difficult for me to see people talk about someone you love, even if they have been justified in doing so."

He continued, "I did not speak out because I agree with what Kanye had to say or because I fuck with the Triumph. I did it because I wanted to help my friend and because I felt like that was being used to attack him. I never had the support of someone who has made a career out of hate, racism and discrimination. So let my apologies be seen in my future work, and let me make my short time in the comments for immediate action and advocacy to those who need it most."

My fault I
