Chance The Rapper Reveals That He Bought Chicagoist The Media On The New Single

Chance The Rapper recently announced some big news in a unique way.
In the newly released "Need for Security", which serves as one of the four new tracks released on Thursday night (July 19), Chance revealed that he bought the Chicagoist website.
"I bought the Chicagoist to run racist bitches out of business," Chance raps in the "Need for Security".
The three-times Grammy winner arrived to confirm the lyrics of the song in a press release.
"I am very excited to continue the work of the Chicagoist, a comprehensive platform Chicago local, news, events and entertainment, luck," he said, according to Gothamist. "WNYC the commitment of the search for homes for -ista brands, including Chicagoist, was an essential part of continuing the legacy and the integrity of the site. I hope to re-start and bring to the people of Chicago an independent media outlet focused on the amplification of diverse voices and content."
In November 2017, both Chicagoist and DNAinfo were turned off by its editor, Joe Ricketts. The decision came a week after the employees voted in favor of unionization.
The Chicagoist currently has only the archived content.
