Chief (FKA Shy Glizzy) Announces that "The World Is Yours" EP and Explains the Name Change

"I have earned the title of Chief," the DC rapper says.

New year, new life for Shy Glizzy who has officially changed his name to Chief.

The DC rapper has already been set the Head of the brand through his Young Boss mixtape series and is now ready to fully embrace the identity with a new project called The World is Yours. The eight-track EP will be out on Friday (January 6) and the characteristics of the NBA YoungBoy (YoungBoy Never Broke Again), 3 Glizzy, Ralo and Kash of the Wrist. Zaytoven produced the first single, "One".

"I'm just renewing myself," the Chief said to The FADER about his change of name. The "reinvention of everything at a higher level. I have earned the title of Chief. It comes with maturity, more responsibility and put more people in the position of being a leader in all aspects. With a name like that, you don't have a choice."
