The legal battle between Colin Kaepernick and the NFL is reported. According to CBS Sports, the former San Francisco 49er quarterback and recently signed Carolina Panther Eric Reid made a confidential settlement with the league this week.

Kaepernick, who has not played in the NFL since the end of the season 2016, filed a complaint against the owners of the teams for allegedly blackballing him to take a knee during the National Anthem more than a year ago..focused on the ad {

Attorney Mark Geragos and the NFL made a joint statement on the decision.

"In recent months, the attorney for Mr. Kaepernick and Reid have been engaged in a permanent dialogue with the representatives of the NFL," the statement read. "As a result of those discussions, the parties have agreed to resolve the pending grievances. The resolution of this matter is subject to a confidentiality agreement so there will be no further comment by any of the parties."
