DJ Akademiks Throws the Jab In Vic Mensa On the New Song "Trap America"
It's the beef?
The daily Struggle to host DJ Akademiks has had a long couple of months, from his friend and co-host of Joe Budden stop the program at the end of 2017 — to be (allegedly) facing time in jail. Now, he may be preparing for a rap beef with Vic Mensa, he name dropped a new song in the preview to the fans during the weekend.
Akademiks shared a snippet of a track titled "Trap of America." What stands out most of the echoey, a bit of Auto-Tuned voice is a light — yet prominent — jab in Mensa. "A million views, until next time, Vic Mensa discomfort, always chilling together, thots that break necks," he raps.
In another part of the clip, which also refers to your "hittas" and refers to himself as a "trap black."
Mensa and Akademiks' matters came to head when the Roc Nation artist was a guest on the everyday Struggle in the past year. During a heated discussion, Mensa said that he felt Akademiks built a following by sensationalist and making light of the violent state of the Chicago scene.
"I wanted a slap in the face," he said when the question came up.
