DJ Drama Says Dedication 6 "Will Happen"
The ball's Lil Wayne's court.
Way back in 2005, Lil Wayne and DJ Drama began on what was to become a staple in Hip Hop music: the Dedication mixtape series. Each installment featured with Wayne doing what he does best-ripping other rappers' beats to the fragments, the release of the original independent music for the label requirements and talk about how he felt about the current developments.
Once a regular series has come to a standstill, though. Almost four years have passed since the Dedication of 5 came to light, and the light of Weezy's legal drama with Cash Money Records, fans began to speculate about whether they would like to get a new installment any time soon.
But according to DJ Drama, the fans need not to worry. In an interview with the magazine Rolling, he revealed he is coming ... he is not sure when.
"It's going to happen," he said. "In Wayne. People ask me all the time, " When she comes?' My job is the easy job. Wayne comes in and he and Mack Maine are asking me for the beats, at times. Simply, the times are different and things have changed. Mixtapes are bigger than they've ever been."
