Donald Glover Showed Up To The 2018 Emmys As "Atlanta", Character Teddy Perkins
But, there are no trophies this year.
Los Angeles, CA – Donald Glover may not have walked away with a trophy, but that caused a great stir with his appearance in the 2018 Emmy Awards.
On Monday (September 17), Glover got in Los Angeles, Microsoft Theatre in whiteface, a nod to their Atlanta character of Teddy Perkins.

Teddy made his debut in the sixth episode of Atlanta Robbin' of the Season — the second season of the popular FX show — in the month of April. Fellow Atlanta actor Derrick Haywood, confirmed the news, explaining that, "in the beginning, I had no idea that Teddy Perkins was actually played by Donald Glover.
"Not only Glover, game of Teddy became Teddy on set, staying in character as the shadow of the figure – pasty makeup, wig, high-pitched voice and everything behind-the-scenes".

Glover, who was back to his "I" later in the night, was nominated for the prestigious award in several categories, including Outstanding Writing In A Comedy Series and Outstanding Directing In A Comedy Series.
Comedian Katt Williams did win a trophy for her guest role in Atlanta, in the Guest Actor, Comedy category.
Beyond Atlanta, Glover was also a Featured Guest Actor award for his double-duty appearance on Saturday Night Live.
Last year at the ceremony, Glover, won two awards from the city of Atlanta, the Outstanding director In a Comedy Series and outstanding lead Actor In a Comedy Series categories.
