Friend Brings Cali Vibes To NPR Tiny Desk Concert

Time to stop sleeping on the man behind HipHopDX's the most slept-on album of the year.

Washington, DC – Friend Harlan & Lark was named HipHopDX's Most Slept-on Album of 2018, but it can be difficult for music fans to sleep in it for a long time. NPR brought from the West Coast rhymer to Washington, DC for the latest edition of its popular Tiny Desk Concert series.

For this special exhibition, Buddy gave new life to some of the standout cuts from their debut album. The Compton native designed a set consisting of four songs — "Legend", "Problems In the Central", "Hello Up There" and "Real Life Shit" — to deliver an impressive performance that lasted about 12 minutes. centered-ad {
