Hip Hop Album Sales: Lil Wayne "Tha Carter V" Topped — Yep! — No. 1 On The Billboard 200

The project marks the second highest level of transmission per week for an album of all-time.

Lil Wayne Tha Carter V (as expected) debuted at no. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart for the week ended 4 October. It is the mark of Weezy's fourth project to catch the crown and also the second-largest streaming week for an album of all-time.

Behind is the Logic the Young Sinatra IV of the project, which lands at No. 2, while Kevin Gates Luca Brasil 3 hits in the chart runs in the No. 4.

In other places, the Drake, the Scorpion moves from No. 4 To No. 5 and Eminem surprise album Kamikaze falls from No. 3 to No. 6.

As Kanye West is predicted, Lil Wayne expected CV made its grand entrance at the top of the table. With 480,126 total album equivalent units, 140,879 pure album sales and streaming count 433,018,729, the 23-track project not only marks the third largest sales week during the year, but also the second-largest streaming week ever for any album.

By comparison, Weezy the last Carter album, 2011's Tha Carter IV, sold approximately 964,000 copies in its first week, earning the highest first-week album sales since Lady Gaga's Born this Way. It also debuted at No. 1, and was certified double platinum by the RIAA almost three months after its launch.
