Hip Hop Album Sales: "The Black Panther: The Album" Called To #2

Meanwhile, Tekashi 6ix9ne "DAY69" debuts at #4.

This week on the Billboard 200 albums chart, the Black Panther, the soundtrack slips to #2 after a 24% drop in sales. In other places, Tekashi 6ix9ne in the debut of the project, DAY69, reaches #4 and Blac Youngsta 223 debuts at #42.

Black panther: The Album, curated by Kendrick Lamar and Top Dawg Entertainment ceo, Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith, fell to #2 after holding down first place during the previous two weeks. The project experienced a 24% decline in week-to-week sales, moving 99,315 total album-equivalent units during the seven days prior to the 1st of March.

The controversial Tekashi 6ix9ne in the debut of the project, DAY69, lands at #4 in the charts this week, moving 55,436 total album equivalent units –. 20,184 that were pure album sales. The 11-track project features Tory Lanez, Young Thug and Offset, among others.

Blac Youngsta's debut album, 223, comes in at #42 during its first week on the charts. The LP moved 11,994 total album equivalent units for the week. The 14-track project, Youngsta's first official album, under the CMG imprint, features guest appearances from Travis Scott, Lil Yachty and French Montana, among others.
