J. Cole's "KOD" Album Certified Gold
With none of the features (that don't J. Cole).
On Monday (May 14), J. Cole recently released KOD album has been certified gold by the RIAA, meaning the album has sold more than 500,000 units equivalent.
The realization of less than a month after that Cole dropped KOD on 20 April.
In its first week, KOD moved 397,000 album equivalent units, which was the largest sales week of 2018 in time.
In addition to its gold status, KOD debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart upon its release — Cole fifth to hit the top spot. After three weeks, the album is currently in the #2 place in the table.
KOD also broke a Spotify day of the opening of the record with 4.2 million streams in its first day, despite Post Malone Beerbongs and Bentleys passed shortly after.
This latest news surrounding Cole comes days after he announced his KOD Tour with Young Thug, which is scheduled to begin in Miami on the 9th of August. The tour will go on to make stops in Boston, Detroit, Nashville, Las Vegas and much more.
