JAY-Z, Beyonce And Diddy Among The World's highest-Paid Celebrities
99 problems but money ain't one.
The world of the best-paid celebrity can be boxer Floyd Mayweather, but a handful of Hip Hop artists have also made their way onto Forbes' list of The World's highest-Paid Celebrities.
The list, which was released earlier this week, takes into consideration earnings before income taxes as of June 1, 2017, through June 1, 2018 for the celebrities around the world.
Among the Hip Hop artists bringing in the most bank are JAY-Z, who was ranked at #25 with $76.5 million and Sean "Diddy" Combs, who landed in the #32 with $64 million. Beyoncé also hit the list at number 35 with $ 60 million.
Compton MC Kendrick Lamar is not too far behind and slips into the #37 with $ 58 million.
Zack O'malley Greenburg, Forbes' senior editor of media and entertainment, spoke about the impact social media has had in celebrity earnings over the last year.
"Forbes has been publishing the Celebrity 100 for 20 years, but there has never been a more lucrative time to be famous now, with 11 superstars to win $100 million or more during the past year," Greenburg said. "The artists have found all sorts of new ways to monetize their audiences, especially with the help of social media—one need not look beyond The Rock and Kylie Jenner, both in our top five."
Other notables on Forbes' The World's highest-Paid Celebrity list are:
The Weeknd — #39 — $ 57 million
Drake — #53 — $47 million
Will Smith — #71 — $42 million
Rihanna — #84 — $37.5 million
J. Cole — #93 — $35.5 million
Dr. Dre — #98 — $35 million
Nas — #98 — $35 million
