Georgetown professor and New York Times best-selling author Michael Eric Dyson is exmaining JAY-Z's status as a cultural icon. The NAACP Image Award winner will have to do it in a new book entitled JAY-Z: Made In america, with a forward written by Pharrell Williams.

"I thought this was the perfect time to take a look at JAY-Z's career and his role in making this nation what it is today," Dyson told Entertainment Weekly.
