Jermaine Dupri Recalls Biggie Pulling A Gun On Lil Kim In The Studio
Obviously Biggie was't playing when it came to her music.
Iconic of the industry, the mogul Jermaine Dupri fell by the Drink Fields of study to give DJ EFN and N. O. R. E. some fantastic stories, including a memorable experience in the studio with the Notorious B. I. G when he pulled a gun on Lil Kim.
This particular session was for the Usher song "Just Like Me", with Kim out of his My Way album. According to Dupri, Biggie had written the verse in question from Kim, but when he reached the study, she was not in the head space to get the verse recorded.
"I think he [Problem] had fucked the sister of Kim," Dupri notes. "This is in the music, though."
Dupri probably refers to the bars on Biggie's final verse of "Friend of Mine" from his debut, where he raps, "She said that I dissed her 'cause I'm fucking her sister a message to the guys, that really gets them upset."
According to Dupri, Kim was upset when she arrived at the studio and Biggie couldn't get her rap.
"Biggie pulled the strap on her," he said.
"To get to do the verse?" N. O. R. E. asked.
"No, to let him know that he was going to kill her," Dupri responded.
Dupri does not describe what happened after that, but the song was completed.
Biggie had a history of infidelity in your relationship. He cheated on his wife Faith Evans with Kim and the rapper Charlie Baltimore. This story is certainly disturbing, but Kim has described being beaten by Biggie in the past.
In 2010, in an interview with Ed Lover on Power 105, she even describes an incident where Biggie strangled her until she fainted.
Throughout the over three hours of conversation, Dupri also revealed that his staff spoke to him of the signing of Ludacris and how the late Lisa "Left Eye" Lopez helped the style of Kriss Kross.
