Jermaine Dupri To Release 'So So Def 25th Anniversary Of The Album

So What Of The Drug.

To celebrate so so Def's 25th anniversary, Sony Music's Legacy Recordings, and/or Certificate Classical divisions of the release of a compilation album, so so Def 25 this summer. The album will be a collection of Atlanta in the label's greatest hits, new remixes, and the deep cuts of his fourth century of the list. So so Def 25 will be released as a digital album, and a 12" vinyl collector's edition for the serious fans.

image courtesy of so so DefLegacy Recordings intends to continue paying tribute to so so Def during the whole year 2018, with the plans for the release of 12" vinyl re-issues of selected catalog titles, as well as other digital content. The plans for the launch of an all-star so so Def tour are also being developed.

In a statement to HipHopDX, so so Def founder Jermaine Dupri says, "I've been dreaming of getting to this point, since my first launch." The Hip-Hop visionary first acknowledgement after the writing and production of Kriss Kross the massive success of 1993's "Jump" record. He founded so so Def later that year.

Dupri was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, February 6, becoming the second Hip Hop artist to achieve such, just behind Jay Z.
