Joey Badass says That it was Inspired by Kanye West's "True Friends"
40 minutes, Instagram and lots of wine produced this revelation.
Joey Bada$$, has not been shy about sharing behind the scenes information as of late. On the heels of claiming that he co-wrote the Post Malone's "Rockstar" and set Pro at the Time of the plans for 2018, the "Devastated" MC says Kanye West told him that he inspired Yeezy 2016 only "Friends of truth."
Bada$$ made the claim during a 40-minute Instagram livestream on Saturday (6 January). The native of Brooklyn, who was obviously drunk, retells a story that allegedly happened at the Coachella Festival in 2016.
"I'm going to tell you something very real about Kanye," he said before swearing that he was telling the truth. "I met Kanye for the first time, Coachella 2016. He was like, 'heard 'really Friends?' I'm looking at this nigga like, 'Yes, I've heard that 'the Friends of truth.' That shit can't hear 'really Friends?' He was like, 'You inspired me to do that song, B.' I honestly couldn't even believe he was saying that shit. I couldn't believe it. The only thing I was thinking in my head was: "Black, why the fuck not am I going to put that shit? I could use the power.' Shoutout to Kanye though. Black Real. I still don't believe it to this day."
The rest of the sequence he saw Bada$$ speaking of wine, admiring a great variety of music, asking for the collaboration of ideas and linking up with Statik Selektah.
