LL Cool J Celebrates His Kennedy Center Honors Achievement

The event airs on CBS at the end of this month.

Washington, DC – LL Cool J will be the first rapper to be commemorated at the Kennedy Center Honors event on Sunday evening (December 3). Before the ceremony, the Hip Hop legend was in a reflective mood, sharing his thoughts about this special honor during the weekend.

"I think we're built to do anything we put our minds and actions are appropriate," she wrote on Instagram. "You have all the tools within you that are necessary to fulfil their GOD-given purpose. This is for those who have come before me and who followed me. We were sent to this planet to love and inspire one another. To manifest our dreams and make them reality. LL and his fellow honorees attended the Artist's Dinner Saturday night (2 December) sponsored by the united States Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson. The iconic MC-turned-actor shared an inspiring message to the light of his career achievement.
