Meek Mill of the Bail Appeal of the Game TO PA Supreme Court
Inching closer to freedom?
Philadelphia, PA – While Meek Mill is still sitting in a prison in Pennsylvania, there has been a new development in your case. According to a press release, the District Attorney of Philadelphia Larry Krasner has just made a presentation to the Supreme Court's consideration and reiterates its position that they are not opposed to the Meek "on bail pending the current proceedings."
Last week, Judge Genece Brinkley, the judge who has been handling your case, denied his request for bail. This latter development, essentially, ignored Brinkley of the decision and leads directly to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
Now, it is up to the Supreme Court to make a decision about Meek's release on bail as he appeals to his 2-4 years in prison for probation violations.
The D. A.'s statement also says that "he is opposed to all other requested relief at this time", which includes dismissing the case because of the accusations of misconduct by the judge and the arresting officer.
Meek's lawyer, Joe Tacopina, said a statement sent to HipHopDX, "We are encouraged by the District Attorney of Philadelphia the firm stance that does not oppose to Meek Mill on bail in the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania level, while the current legal process to continue, even in the light of the Judge Brinkley vengeful, and wrong decision".
While the Wins And Losses rapper's legal team pending the Supreme Court's ruling will come quickly, at this time there is no immediate timeline for the final decision.
DX came to the District Attorney, but he was not available for comment.
