Nas' Mass Appeal Records Announces Global Distribution Agreement With Universal

On their next album, which is being produced by Kanye West, will be the first release in the deal.

New York, NY – Nas next solo album, will have all the world the power of the industry, Universal Music Group behind it.

The legendary MC Mass Appeal Records has announced a new distribution deal with Universal ahead of his next LP, which is scheduled to drop this Friday (June 15). The Kanye West-produced project will be launched in collaboration with Def Jam Recordings.

"I have had the good fortune of working with two of the best brands in the music," Nas said in a press release. "Columbia Records was how I started and Def Jam was where I followed that path. In my next chapter, I am proud to say that I'm of the firm of myself to myself. I hope that the release of many of the projects in the very near future with the Mass Appeal of the new global partnership with UMG."

As part of the new agreement, Universal has become the exclusive distributor of the Mass Appeal of physical and digital music releases as well as the short-form video content.

"In the 15 months since he joined forces with UMG, we have seen the wide acceptance of the brand to expand rapidly, experiencing our most successful year to date," Mass Appeal CEO Peter Bittenbender added. "As fans all over the world have commented that Nas is finally dropping his new album and could not be more proud of our first release through this new partnership."

Since it was founded in the year 2014, Mass Appeal has released projects by such artists as Run The Jewels, J Dilla, Pimp C, Dave East, Fashawn, and Black Milk.
