Nicki Minaj Calls Out Fashion Industry of Cultural Appropriation During #NYFW Performance

New York, NY – Nicki Minaj has never been one to refrain from speaking their mind. This week, the "No Fraud" mastermind said to the fashion industry to marginalize people of color, while the drawing of the influence of their culture.
Minaj was performing at the Philipp Plein Spring/Summer '18 catwalk of New York during the Fashion Week along with Future, 21 Wild, Yo Gotti and Teyana Taylor. As he expressed his thanks to designer Philipp Plein, she also made it clear that she believes that diversity is very rarely embraced in the world of fashion.
"Thank you for including our culture," he said to huge applause from the crowd. "The designers get to be really large, very rich of our culture, and then you don't see a son of a bitch that looks nothing like us in the front row half the time. So let's make some noise for Philipp Plein tonight."

The German-born Plein also shared a video on Instagram that features Minaj, Taylor, Rae Sremmurd's Swae Lee, Wild and more of the action on the track as the crowd goes crazy.
