ODBday: Young Dirty Bastard & Hue Hef Fall Of Ol' Dirty Bastard Tribute Song
Hard to believe, it's been 13 years since the Only Son died.
13 years ago, Hip Hop lost one of its most enigmatic characters of Ol' Dirty Bastard. In honor of the Wu-Tang Clan member the birthday of his son Young Dirty bastard and RZA of the artist Hue Hef have gathered for a ODB tribute song titled "Warning Shots."
"ODB has been and always will be an important part of the glue that makes Wu, Wu," Mustafa Shaikh, RZA's business partner and co-founder of 36 Chambers of LAC, he said. "The first time I worked with YDB was two years ago in a music video for an unreleased odb song. It was a fun, entertaining and, at times, a disconcerting experience. Fast forward to two years later, and I'm excited to see that he is starting to take his passion for music seriously. YDB actually crashed our artist Hef the recording session to get a bit of time in the studio and we have a great song yesterday. I thought that it is appropriate to remove it Wu Wednesday".
The track away from the sound of most of the fans associated with Wu-Tang, but Young Dirty bastard is of a style very reminiscent of his father.
Listen to "Warning Shots" above and let us know your favorite ODB songs in the comments.
