Ol' Dirty Bastard biopic Produced By RZA Officially On Its Way

It's goin' down.

RZA and Ol' Dirty Bastard not only of other members of Wu-Tang Clan, they were also cousins. Thus, it is appropriate only RZA would be instrumental in bringing ODB's life story to the big screen.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, a biopic about ODB is in development at Sony's Columbia Pictures with RZA in the role of producer. Sources reportedly said that the search for a director is currently underway.

RZA spoke about the possibility of the ODB biopic with Rolling Stone in January.

"I think that is a great idea, and has spoken about it," he said. "There are a couple of wheels in motion with a made by our cousin brother Rayshawn; he was the young kid, observing everything that was happening.

"He and ODB's wife has been talking and he has a very interesting script. I just watched a 12-minute teaser that we shot about a year ago and it felt pretty damn cold. I saw it and was like, 'Wow, you may have something here.' He has the best thing that I've seen up to now."

ODB, who was without a doubt the most eccentric of the members of the Staten Island group, passed away in 2004 of a drug overdose. However, his Wu-Tang brothers to keep his legacy alive.

In a recent interview with HipHopDX, RZA spoke about another film that you are directing the right to Cut the Throat of the City. Set in New Orleans at the time of Hurricane Katrina, the film is starring Wesley Snipes, T. I., Demetrius Shipp, Jr., and Terrence Howard, among others.

You are expected to arrive early next year.
