Pharrell Joins ROLI To Help Develop New Musical Instruments
The winner of the prize Grammy, the rapper and producer also becomes co-owner of the united kingdom home.
London, England – Pharrell has been named Creative Director of uk music technology startup ROLI, the company announced on Wednesday (25 October).
ROLI creates the next generation of musical instruments that are driven by digital technology and accessible to all.
As part of the partnership, Pharrell are going to invest in the company and become a co-owner along with founder Roland Lamb.
"Music affects all of us, and for a long time I've been passionate about finding ways to share the power of music with more people," Pharrell said in a statement. "When I met Roland and ROLI, I immediately felt that we were working towards exactly the same goals, and so I'm super excited that we're kicking off this partnership."

To mark the start of their partnership, ROLI and Pharrell have launched "Happy by Pharrell," free studiopack for ROLI NOISE of the app that allows users to create their own songs with rhythms, voices, and bass lines of Pharrell's Grammy-winning success. The studiopack deconstructs the chords, bass lines and vocals from "Happy" to provide users with the raw materials to recreate the song one layer at a time.
