Post Malone "Beerbongs And Bentleys" Moved From Rap, Pop Category For the year 2019 Grammys
He also does not't eligible for Best New Artist.
New York, NY – Post Malone will not be in contention for Best Rap Album in the 2019 delivery of the Grammy Awards. According to the Associated Press, Malone Beerbongs And Bentleys LP, has moved to the pop category for the Grammy's rap committee.
A source told the AP the committee decided that the album was oriented more towards the pop territory with their sound and melodies. HipHopDX also chose not to review Beerbongs And Bentleys for similar reasons.
The nominees for the Grammy of Best Rap Album category should contain "the 51 percent or more of rap music." Malone does not reach this standard in the committee of the mind, because of album cuts like "Stay".
Malone was also denied entry in the category of Best New Artist. According to the ap's source, the Grammy voters left him off due to the success of its 2016 debut of Stoney. Malone 2015 hit "White Iverson" was also mentioned as a justification for not putting it in the category.
Cardi B suffered a similar fate. The voters determined that it was not eligible for Best New Artist had already won the Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance nominations for "Bodak Yellow" for the 2018 Grammy Awards.
