Pro at the Time of the Powers Pleasant Reveals the Superstar of Features For the Debut EP

#DXCLUSIVE: The Pro Era producer/DJ and member Chuck Strangers also talk about STEEZ Day.

Denver, CO – in The Backstage of the Ogden Theatre in Denver, Colorado, the Pro Era collective has taken control. Chuck Strangers and Powers Pleasant on deck in support of their fellow Pro Era member Joey Bada$$, who was headlining a show last Thursday (17 May), next to Buddy and Boogie.

Powers Pleasant, which is, in reality, his real name, is taking the first steps in the establishment of his own solo career. The native of Brooklyn, has been Joey's tour DJ and producer for years, but with the release of "Pull Up" with a$AP Ferg and Joey, is stepping out of the shadows.

The "Pull Up", the video was released about two weeks ago and is currently sitting on more than 1.2 million views on YouTube. Powers is preparing for its inaugural edition of the EP, which is expected to arrive sometime this summer.

Despite Powers not to reveal the EP's title, he does not speak of some of the special guests that are expected in the project.

"I'm Joey, a$AP Ferg, the underachievers, Flatbush Zombies, Jay IDK and Denzel Curry, but I'm going to continue on this, for now," Powers tells HipHopDX. "We're going to see when going out. I still haven't decided yet, but it could be something that has been a bit of a recurrent theme in my environment. That is all I can say [laughs]."

Pro Era is preparing for the fourth official STEEZ Day in honor of Capital Steez who took his life in 2012. Losing him was obviously hard on everyone in the collective.

"We are all brothers and friends," he says. "That was the first brother that I have lost in my life, so of course it was devastating. I don't know if it has radically changed my life, but it was a moment where I learnt to appreciate everyone in your life. We're going to get the rose when you can still smell it."

STEEZ Day 2018 is going down, on the 8th of July. I could never have predicted the magnitude of the first, that it was not really going to be a festival.
