Run The Jewels to the Premiere of "Let's Go (The Royal We)" And Talk of New Album
The track comes from the "Poison" of the soundtrack.
Killer Mike and El-P — collectively known as Run The Jewels — were the most recent guests of Zane Lowe of the pulse 1 Radio program. There, he premiered his new single "Let's Go (The Royal We)" from the Venom of the soundtrack.
During the interview, The Product revealed that the song was originally intended for Blade Runner 2049.
"The essence of the music, in fact, came from a trailer that I have submitted for the Blade Runner 2049 trailer that ultimately do not use," he explained. "I loved it so much that I was like, 'I have to use this.'
"So, basically, I had spent some time working on this, to try to transform it in a heartbeat to essentially Run the Jewels 4 because me and Mike both loved it, and I just thought that was nasty."
The Hip Hop duo also updated fans on Run The Jewels 4.
"I think this was a good opportunity for us to put ourselves back in an environment and is a decent starting point," El-P said. "I've been collecting beats and we're going to try and make the grimiest, rawest record we can."
Killer Mike added, "In terms of everything that is happening and reflecting with music, I have decided to put more of everything that the music comes, because trying to communicate and talk, a sort of to get polarized and tried to be a political figure, and I'm not. I'm a gross-ass rapper who, when asked my opinion, will give it.
"My opinions, rather than tell them through the radio or television, where I can discuss with stupid people who are paid to give you a hand, I'm simply going to put in the registry to the mass of fools around Eazy-E, Uncle Luke, Ice Cube, the Geto Boys, and, like that the rap is supposed to do, to give people good music to push through this shit."
