Schoolboy Q Delays of the Release of the Album In the Wake Of Mac Miller Death
I'm not ready to put anything right now. I'm sorry."
Schoolboy Q has been relatively silent since the death of his close friend and collaborator Mac Miller. Apart from Punch brief update on Q's mental state, not much was known about how the Top Dawg rapper was doing.
During a recent concert, Q finally revealed how much Miller's death has impacted him. In fact, it is delaying the launch of its long-awaited fifth studio album.
"With my nigga gone now, I don't feel right putting out an album," he said. "As you can see, I am not my true self right now. I should not be here now. But as I said, my nigga Mac didn't want me in the house sad. He clown me for some strange shit.
"So, as I said, I'm here today because in no way would she allow me to sit in the house and be a bitch. I'm not gon' be a little bitch. I'm here."
As Q continued, he confessed that he simply is not ready to respond to questions from the press and apologized for the delay.
"I'm a go and I am to figure out when I'm putting this fucking album because you are going to get this album," he said. "I promise you that. I'm just not ready to walk in the radio station and the first thing they ask me is "What Mac Miller..." I'm not ready to deal with the questions they have. So right now I'm not willing to put anything right now. I'm sorry."
In August, Q said the album was almost done, but now it could be next year before anyone gets to hear.
