Schoolboy Q Might Skip The Grammys (Again)

"Why is it that artists like us will never win a Grammy?"

TDE had a monstrous 2016, his success helped the release of Schoolboy Q of the Blank Side LP. The project is up for Best Rap Album at the Grammys and Q find out on Sunday (February 12), if I won the prize.

But if you do overcome the odds and take the trophy, he may not even be in the building. He says in an interview with Zane Lowe in the times 1 radio that he jumped out at the 2015 ceremony when Oxymoron was nominated for, and probably not going to go this year unless your daughter wants to, in which case you are going to go together.

In regards to the Grammy nod, the rapper says, "with me just to be nominated, I won". He explains how he did not expect to win the prize because it goes against Drake VIEWS, Chance The Rapper's Coloring Book and Kanye West, The Life of Paul.

"None of them are street rappers," he says. "The Rap music came from the street. Not bumps, I love Chance music. I love the music of Drake. I love the music of Kanye. I am a fan. They never want to admit to the other party. But the fact that 50 Cent, Nas, Tupac never won a Grammy. Biggie never won a Grammy. Why do artists like us will never win a Grammy?"

After struggling with the tracking of 2014's Oxymoron, I think it's a Great Q in fact has gotten his groove back and he says that he is already well on its way to making a new album.

"I feel for six months of the year are not only inspired to write", says the gap between albums, "so can I hit what I want to achieve."

He says of the tour to promote Blank Face gave him new energy, where it all began brainstorming ideas, even while they are on the road. As soon as the tour ended, he hit the studio and hit it off the tracks.

"I had never been so inspired that fast," he says, saying that he is "halfway" done with the new album.
