Several Hip Hop artists are nominated in a multitude of categories in the next 69 Annual Emmy Awards, further proof that the genre is undeniable impact on pop culture and the unwavering staying power. Chance The Rapper, Snoop Dogg, Common, Donald Glover, and LL Cool J are all for several honors this year.

Chicago Lil Chano, who has recently donated millions of dollars to the Chicago Public Schools, is nominated in the Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics category for December of 2016, the Saturday Night Live skit, "Last Christmas", while Grammy and an Academy Award winner, Common is nominated in the same category for the song "Free Card", with Bilal, who appeared in his 2016 album Black of the united states Again.

Snoop and co-host of Martha Stewart sharing a nomination for the Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program for their show, VH1, Martha & Snoop-Dinner Dinner, and LL Cool J won a nomination for Outstanding Structured Reality Program as a producer of Spike TV's Lip Sync Battle.

Not surprisingly, Donald Glover also known as Childish Gambino, and his critically acclaimed show out of Atlanta caught six nominations in categories like outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Directing of a Comedy Series and Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series.

The 2017 Emmy Awards are scheduled for September 17 in the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
