The Breakfast Club Raises Nearly $1 Million Dollars For Social Justice
The legendary singer and activist Harry Belafonte accepted the check on behalf of your nonprofit.
The Breakfast Club presented legendary singer and activist Harry Belafonte with a $825,789.92 check to her Collection by Justice non-profit, Tuesday (December 19). The funds were raised during the radio program for the first time in that Change4Change Radiothon, held on Thursday, November 16, from 6 a.m. until midnight. While many of the donations came from regular listeners, several celebrities including Nick Cannon, Eminem, DJ Khaled, Diddy, Cardi B, and Ludacris — donated generously to the cause.
"We're radio personalities, but what's most important public officials in the service of the needs of the public, because we have been seeing that the Meeting of the Justice movement has been doing for a long time," Charlamagne Tha God explains in the video below.
Belafonte founded The Gathering for Justice in 2005 in order to prevent the child from imprisonment, the social support of the subjects of justice and defender of racial equality. The organization behind several movements such as The Women's march, Colin Kaepernick Know-Your-Rights group and the city of new york Justice League.
