The countdown To HipHopDX At SXSW: Larry June
Meet with Larry and June, the Bay Area buzzmaker that are performed on HipHopDX's SXSW showcase.
Larry June comes from a family of musicians, but specifically of the claims of his cousin — a rapper who was signed by the legendary Too Short as their reason for pursuing a musical career. In June he released his first mixtape at the age of 16 years without any formal training, then spent years building his name in the Bay Area of the scene. After touring with artists such as Post Malone and Asher Roth, June was able to get a deal with Warner Bros Records. With this platform, June the presence of only has grown.
HipHopDX spoke to June, who recently left his You are Doing a Good EP, ahead of his performance at SXSW to learn more about him.
They have performed at SXSW before? If so, what makes this year different from the previous ones?
Yes. I just put my best project, and the trip is being paid for me ... the Bitcoin.
What are you most excited about performing at the festival?
I'm excited to interact with my core fans, new fans and make new ones. We need to stay healthy.
Do you plan on watching other performances? What are the most likely to see?
I definitely plan to in the observation of other actions. I only got to look at the calendar and see that you are making.
What has been the best and/or worst part of the preparation for the presentations?
Not having enough mojitos around.
What was your first show outside of his native city, and, what was the best memory of her?
A3C in Atlanta ... TM88, OG Maco, and I'm going crazy on the stage and see the fans react and go crazy.
What was your first paid gig?
I threw my first show in San Jose. It is sold out. 300+ very healthy fans at a hole-in-the-wall office in San Jose.
