The Former Wu-Tang Clan Affiliate Lord Superb Passes

Lord Jamar, DJ Premier, and Roc Marciano are some of the many who expressed their condolences.

Lord Superb, seemingly, has died. DJ Premier, Roc Marciano and Lord Jamar are three of many who took to social media to mourn the passing of the former Wu-Tang Clan affiliate. The tweets begin to pour in Tuesday (9 October).

Lord Jamar wrote a heartfelt tribute in an Instagram post.

"Rest In the Power of my baby bro Jamel Bibbs p. k.a. LORD SUPERB," he wrote. "I'm sad for his death, because I've seen this talented young soul to grow up from the age of 16 years, but due to the bad decisions that, really, he never lived up to his POTENTIAL...PERB was one of the illest/hoodest/more fun/informed people I have ever known.

"It is a pity that the world has never heard of his BEST MATERIAL, which was recorded with me at 560 State street in Brooklyn during the mid 90's. I love u Perb, and u will be missed."

The Far Rockaway, Queens native was a former member of Raekwon's American Cream Team, but has distanced itself from the crew for more than a decade. Excellent claimed to have "ghostwritten" Ghostface Killah all 2000 solo album Supreme Clientele, something Ghostface stubbornly refused.

"That is nonsense," he said in a 2007 interview. "Still makes me crazy of shit. 'Perb [Superb] is Rae's [Raekwon] man. He has been in the studio a couple of times while we are doing shit. Do not write shit. All 'Perb contributed was a couple of lines that you could put in the air.

"Even if he did write a verse, he could never make an album of mine. He could not make an album, you feel me? I made Supreme Clientele than it is. Those are my stories, based on what is based on. It is to me. I can't see the songs 'Perb wrote."

Despite Ghostface comments, Excellent was a prominent guest of the Supreme Clientele in the courts "We Made It" and "Ghost Deini."

At this time, no cause of death has been confirmed. He was 41.
