XXXTENTACION the Lawyer Thinks the Fatal Shooting Was "Random Theft"
A candlelight vigil is planned for Tuesday evening (June 19), near the site of the incident.
Deerfield Beach, Florida – More details are beginning to emerge in the fatal shooting of XXXTENTACION, who was killed on Monday (June 18).
According to the Sun-Sentinel, X's lawyer David Bogenschutz believes that the County of Broward, Florida, native was the target of a "random robbery."
"I think that went to the bank before it happened," Bogenschutz said. "I think the determination was that he wanted to buy a motorcycle. But [detectives] are not excluding any theory."
The 20-year-old rapper, who was working on her third studio album of the Skins, I was at RIVA motor sports in Deerfield Beach, when two gunmen ran up to him and fired shots at his black BMW i8, hitting on it. The suspects allegedly fled in a black Dodge Journey.
X was rushed to Broward Health North, Level 1 trauma unit where he eventually succumbed to his wounds.
TMZ reported that one of the alleged gunmen was wearing a red mask and a Louis Vuitton bag was stolen from X of the vehicle.
A candlelight vigil is planned for Tuesday night (June 19), near the scene of the crime. Fans have already started to gather outside the motorcycle dealership where X was a frequent customer.
An Instagram post of RIVA Motorsports read, "we will close today at 5 PM in order to participate in the vigil to celebrate his life and pay our respects."
