Zaytoven, Backgrounds, Fresh, Yung and Twista Kick Off Adult Swim's 2017 Singles Program With "Pose"

Run The Jewels, Oddisee, Migos, Maxo Kream and Jay Electronica are all that appear in the network's annual music initiative.

Cartoon Network's evening branch, Adult Swim, has always embraced the Hip Hop in some capacity, even going so far as to help set in motion the creation of Run The Jewels. No initiative of the network supports the cause more than their Adult Swim Singles Program.

This year, the program plans to run for 52 consecutive weeks and will feature the music of featured artists like Run The Jewels (naturally), Migos, Oddisee Thundercat, Maxo Kream, Shabazz Palaces, and Zaytoven.

The first single from the project is presented in the form of Zaytoven the "Pose" with Funds Fresh, Yung and Twista.

Seven years since the program's inception, almost 16 million Soundcloud streams have been generated with the music of artists such as Ghostface Killa, Future, Rae Sremmurd, and Vince Staples.

In an interview with Edge, Adult Swim creative director Jason DeMarco spoke on the program of the singularity.

"We're a little different from the others in that the TELEVISION networks and licensing are one of the only major sources of revenue for artists," DeMarco said. "So, in this way, we are like a TELEVISION network because we are licensing music for a purpose. But we are unlike a TELEVISION network in which we are not licensing these tracks for use in commercials, we're just doing a music program, most of the TELEVISION networks not to do. So I kind of excel in that ecosystem because we are doing something that nobody else does.

"I don't know why not to do it," he continued. "Maybe they don't want or perhaps no one is sufficiently motivated to do so. But seven years have passed, no one else is doing, and I have the feeling that no one else is going to. But Adult Swim is a small and peculiar of the network, and someone like me who loves the music he is empowered to do something that is not a direct and obvious revenue driver, while someone in Viacom might not have that support."

Bump "Pose" of the top.
