Azealia Banks Thinks Cardi B Is A "Poor Man" of Nicki Minaj
And that's how you feel about it.
Before deleting his Twitter account entirely, the always controversial azealia Banks had some words for the Cardi B, who only took the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for her hit single "Bodak Yellow".
In a series of since-deleted tweets, Banks took a couple of shots at the Bronx rapper after a Twitter user's comment that the Cardi is black. The banks, of course, believes that the Cardi is the "poor man" version of Nicki Minaj.
"She is only black when the black wants to include themselves in a success story," Banks wrote on Monday (25 September).
"I wanted a spicy Latina, and she gave me a poor mans nicki," she added.
These feelings are in marked contrast with the many Hip Hop artists who have praised the Cardi on his recent success. Cardi boyfriend of Displacement, Missy Elliott, Pusha T, and the self-proclaimed Black Barbie herself are some of the many publicly the celebration of its realization.
The Cardi is the first solo female rapper to score a #1 hit in 19 years. The last woman to win the honor was Lauryn Hill in 1998, when he released "Doo Wop (That Thing)" minus The Fugees.
The banks will have to get used to Cardi ... at least for now.
