Destructo Explains of the Decision To Hire A Track For quotes mobb Deep Forever a Tribute to The HARD Summer
#DXCLUSIVE: The veteran DJ also talks about his departure from Live Nation.
San Bernardino, CA – News Destructo the separation of Live Nation to hit the Hip Hop and EDM world only a few days before the 10 year anniversary of the HARD Summer Festival. These circumstances made for a tense festival, which took place at the Glen Helen Amphitheatre in San Bernardino, California, just two hours outside of Los Angeles.
Saturday (August 5), HipHopDX caught up with Destructo (real name Gary Richards) in his trailer, which was hidden in the artist compound.
"I feel good," Destructo said DX after that the hope of a quick shower. "I just ran around the party and ends up in the crowd and danced with the people. It feels really good. I'm just having a good time."
This year's lineup had something special in store for Hip Hop heads in particular — a quotes mobb Deep Forever Tribute in the celebration of the Miracle of life. Two days before the festival, it was determined that the Prodigy of the official cause of death was an accidental choking.

"I was so excited to have quotes mobb Deep to play," Destructo explained. "And then everything happened. I don't even know what to say. Did not want to call them. I didn't want to be rude. Not wanted to intrude. I just let them have their space."
Destructo thought A-Trak would be the perfect candidate for a tribute set after discussing the idea with his team.
"I spoke with the management team I have spoken to about the book series," Destructo explained. "We've had a call. They were like, 'Why not turn this into a tribute? A celebration of the Miracle of life.' I asked if there was a DJ in the bill that could help. I looked at that were in alignment today and I was like, 'A-Trak.' I'm sure quotes mobb Deep is probably his favorite group ever.
