Los Angeles, CA – on The same day in the Bay Area Hip Hop legend Pam The Funkstress died, another underground rap vet also quietly made his exit. According to the Freestyle Fellowship same Jupiter, The Angels of staples Ganjah K (real name Keshaun McClendon) passed away Friday (December 22) from the suspicion of complications of COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease), although his official cause of death is still unconfirmed. He was 45.

"Damn! I only have news that one of my brother Keshaun McClendon (Ganjah K) passed away on Friday," he wrote on Facebook. "I literally just talked to him on Wednesday. Damn!! My deepest condolences to Buford McClendon and the whole McClendon family."

Project Blowed luminaire Abstract Rude came along Ganjah K during the Good Life Cafe days. The L. A. restaurant was a breeding ground for underground Hip-Hop thanks to his weekly open mic night. Hip Hop legends like Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg and The Pharcyde, all through its doors. Freestyle Fellowship — Self Jupiter, Aceyalone, Myka 9 and P. E. A. C. E. — were common, and are part of the Project Blowed.

"Ganjah K was probably as strong the first promoters of cannabis in Hip-Hop such as Bob Marley or any artist was in the reggae," Rude says HipHopDX. "The bold pride that he took in the promotion of their drugs and the economics of property change through his music and his life in general character he was a pioneer, and, without doubt, an early key player in the high-grade chronic pop of appeal today.
