Los Angeles, CA – growing up in South central Los Angeles is a source of pride for the rap sensation G Perico. His various clashes with the los Angeles Police Department have been a source of annoyance, however.
As a vivid narrator, G has narrated his day-in-the-life experiences throughout his music, and politically loaded 2 Tha Left single "Amerikkka" is no exception. On the Dupri-produced record, spits on topics such as the injustices of the growing black in america, the brutality of the police and the President of Donald Trump.
As explained to HipHopDX when we stopped by your One Stop Smoke Shop, your experience with the los angeles police has never been positive. But it wasn't just their experiences with the police growing up he woke up "Amerikkka", Has found a new inspiration, after seeing the movie Detroit, which is based on the 1967 Algiers Motel incident that left three black teenagers dead at the hands of the police.
"What inspired the song ... I saw the movie of Detroit and of this group called [The] Drama and a couple of the members there, apart from what happened," he told DX. "The fuckin' police went there and killed some niggas and shit, beat 'em down and the whole nine. So, that is what really brought me back to the reality of what is going on."
