Hip Hop Album Sales: Lil Uzi Vert & XXXTENTACION Reign On the Billboard 200

A$AP Mob and Action Bronson also make debuts on the charts.

The City of new York, NY – Lil Uzi Vert and XXXTENTACION debuted with his first studio album in the #1 and #2 respectively on the Billboard 200 albums chart for the week ending August 31, 2017. In other places, a$AP Mob Cosy Tapes Vol. 2: Very Welcoming stayed in the #6 following an impressive streaming performance, and, finally, Action Bronson struggled to replicate the commercial success of the Lord's Wonderful with his latest release, Blue Chips 7000.

Lil Uzi Vert debut studio album, Luv is Rage 2, rounded off its first week on the Billboard 200 albums chart at #1. The 16-track project, which includes the hit "XO Tour Llif3" and has invited the participation of Pharrell Williams and The Weeknd, which is sold 135,239 total album equivalent units, 28,326 that were pure album sales. The album of transmission in the count accumulated an impressive 150,572,637 streams. Luv is Rage 2 marks of the full-length follow-up of the Uzi is The Perfect Luv Tape and serves as the official sequel to 2015's Luv is the Rage. Check out DX review of the album here.

Despite all the controversy that surrounds him (or perhaps because of it), XXXTENTACION debut album, 17 years old, opens into an impressive #2 in its first week on the Billboard 200 chart. X the album transmission count came to 99,998,965 streams, contributing to the expulsion of the last week #2, Kodak Black Project Baby 2, which was reduced from 34% to hit #9.
