Jhené Aiko begins FORMS the Foundation by Donating To 5 Years of Age With Cancer
Aiko launched the foundation in honor of his brother, who died of a brain tumor.
Jhené Aiko is giving back during the holiday season.
It is the launch of a new charity organization called the FORMS of the Foundation — an acronym for Why aren't you Smiling — in honor of his older brother, Miyagi, who died of a brain tumor at 26.
"With our newly-introduced FORMS of the Foundation, we will continue with this Christmas tradition of donating to a family in need, as well as in numerous ways throughout the years in an effort to help bring hope, comfort, compassion, and financial assistance to people affected by cancer," Aiko wrote on Instagram.
Aiko's first donation of $15,000 was five years old, Lily-of-Olive-Eagle Rock, California, who is currently receiving treatment for a rare form of leukemia.
The composer and singer shared some photos from their trip to visit Lily's family on Instagram.
This Christmas, I have decided to give away to my family with the "WAYS of the Foundation" in memory of my brother, Miyagi prefecture. In place of the traditional exchange of gifts, I decided to make a donation on my family name to a beautiful 5 year old girl called Lily Olive Cosby and his family. Lily's story touched me and my families hearts and it made our Christmas the best one so far 🙏🏼 #WAYSFoundation @ways_foundation
