Joey Bada$$ Jokes About Being "Legally Blind" After Eclipse

"Legally blind ... fuck it."

Brooklyn's Joey Bada$$ took to Twitter to address the rumors that he fried his eyeballs after watching the Monday (August 21) solar eclipse.

Think about social media earlier this week about looking at the sun without any protection for the eyes and, shortly after, cancelled three concerts due to "unforeseen circumstances." No reason was given for the cancellation, which leads to many fans and the media wonder about the correlation.

"Yo Yo, what world, Joey Bada$$," begins the video. "There are a lot of rumors and accusations going on about me — a lot of people confused, a lot of people are worried about hitting my phone. I just wanted to come here and address the situation. Yes, haha joke's on me. It is true. Now I can see the future. In fact, I am now legally blind ... fuck it ... fuck it."

On Thursday (24 August), the Pro Was a veterinarian posted an Instagram photo with black sunglasses with various colors of lenses and stated that it was his doctor. "Doc said that I need to keep these in the day now.... a lil annoying, but they are quite fire," he wrote in the caption.

But a day after the eclipse, I've uploaded a Instagram photo of him using what appears to eclipse viewing glasses. It is not clear if Joey is simply making the clown at all or if your eyes are really damaged.

According to the American Academy of Ophthalmology, looking directly at an eclipse, can cause solar retinopathy and there is "no known beneficial treatment exists for solar retinopathy. Prevention is through education is of paramount importance."

If Joey really needs those glasses it remains to be seen (no pun intended).
