Kreayshawn Stop Rapping Because She Was "Too Privileged" And Needed To Make room For POC

The size of a pint, the Bay Area native says that she is now taking a break from Twitter to get a lobotomy.

After the explosion onto the scene in 2011 with "Gucci Gucci" White Girl Mob alum Kreayshawn released her debut album, Somethin' 'Bout Kreay, 2012 and has been quiet since then.

In a series of tweets published on Tuesday (15 August), the Bay Area native said she had left her rap career behind to make more space for women of color. She also explained that despite the fact that she grew up "broke and in the ghetto," she will never understand what people of color go through on a daily basis.

"Yes, I grew up broke and in the ghetto," she wrote. "No, it does not mean that I understand the struggle of POC. Yes, I have done rap music and have benefited from what I at the time understood as everything that I knew. Broke and a bad person, but I got off because I was too privileged. Many gr8 and talented of the commission of the woman who does the music deserved that place more than me. And to take that place with my asshole self was an insult."

She also spoke about the various systems of " imperfect designs that set POC to "fail".

"Any person that gets annoyed when someone says, 'Black Lives don't Matter' 'Fuck the white people", etc., do not even understand what a person has gone threw dealing with the law system, education system, welfare system, all white-controlled, and designed to fail POC," she wrote.
