Lil Wayne Says He Can Release "Tha Carter V" Will
Wonder what Birdman has to say.
The infighting between Lil Wayne and Cash Money Records would be left out of Tha Carter V, but Weezy says that is not the case. In fact, he says he can release it when he wants to.
During an interview with Q93's Wild Wayne to promote the 2017 Lil Weezyana Fest, the Young Money founder said that simply waiting to drop the album because he wants to do it the right way.
"Of course we're going to see Tha Carter V," he told Wild Wayne when asked about the album's status. "Man, I don't want to do them the wrong way. Honestly, man, I can do what I want to honestly at any time. The fans deserve the right and that is how it is going to be. I am sure that it is okay. I drop what I drop. I drop what I drop. But I'm not going to give 'em Carter V the wrong way."
Wayne also stated that he had finished work on the LP. Now, it's just a matter of putting in a proper manner.
"Carter V is done," he said. "Carter V on the shelf, just about to fall. I don't ... I don't have to do that. I move and keep on moving and give them what I'm doing now. But Carter V is ready to be heard. It's just that you have to be heard the right way and as I said, I ain't gonna give 'em bad."
Weezy's words continue their trend of an optimistic vision of the album's release. In April, he told the fans in a show that the LP was "very soon."
The feeling is drastically different from his attitude in the month of January. A source in Weezy's camp told TMZ that Birdman was "full of shit" for saying that the much-delayed album was "definitely".
