Suge Knight Girlfriend And Business Partner Defendant After the Illegal Sale of Video
The couple allegedly sold video of the fatal hit-and-run TMZ for $55,000.
A check for $55,000 in the last instance, can cost Suge Knight's girlfriend Toilin Kelly and Knight's business partner Mark Blankenship his freedom.
According to a press release from the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, Kelly and Blankenship were charged in July 28, for a felony charge each of conspiracy to violate an order of the court, of conspiracy to obstruct justice, and conspiracy to commit theft.
The two allegedly worked together to sell video of the fatal hit-and-run involving Suge Knight. Knight allegedly hit and killed 55-year-old Terry Carter in January of 2015. His trial is scheduled to begin on January 8, 2018.
Despite The los Angeles Superior Court Judge Ricardo Ocampo granted an order of protection that prohibits the publication of the video, which serves as evidence in the case, Kelly and Blankenship, finally, reached an agreement with TMZ to sell the video.
After almost a month of negotiation, Kelly was supposedly established at $55,000 for the video. It was uploaded on TMZ shortly after the sale.
Kelly is now scheduled to appear in court on September 19 for a bail review hearing. An arraignment date has not been set for Blankenship.
Both Kelly and Blankenship faces up to three years in prison if convicted.
