The man Accused of Killing Rihanna's Cousin
The singer's cousin was murdered in Barbados on Boxing Day.
A 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Rihanna's cousin, Tavon Kaiseen Alleyne, according to local news outlet Barbados Today. Alleyne was killed in the birthplace of the singer of Barbados on Boxing Day (26 December).
The publication reports that Shawayne DaShawn Williams appeared in court on Wednesday (3 January), accused of the murder of the 21 years of age. Williams, according to reports, showed no sign of emotion as the charges were read to him.
Williams was not required to file a statement, and will be remanded until his next court date on the 31st of January.
Alleyne was shot several times while walking near his home in the Saint Michael area of the island on Boxing Day. The aggressor fled the scene.
Alleyne was rushed to a nearby hospital, but later died of his injuries.
Shortly after his cousin's death, Rihanna took to Instagram to put an end to gun violence.
