New York, NY – the Pop star Madonna has succeeded in halting the sale of some personal items, including a handwritten letter from your ex-boyfriend, Tupac Shakur, and a pair of her panties that are worn, on a online auction site.
Billboard reports that the 58-year-old, the singer filed an emergency court order against Gotta have It! Objects of collection, and was successful in its request to block the items to be auctioned off the day of today (July 19) as part of a rock-and-roll theme of the sale.
On Tuesday (July 18), in Manhattan state Supreme Court judge ordered that You have to Have! Collectible to pull of 22 auction items.
The staff of the elements made their way onto the site through an "old friend" Madonna explained. She was apparently surprised at the date fixed for the auction of the Tupac letter, which was written by the rapper in January of 1995. The letter would have boasted a starting price of $100,000.
As for the planned auction of the singer's other personal items, Madonna says she found the auction of "outrageous and offensive."
Although the handwritten letter from Tupac and the worn panties of Madonna are no longer listed on the auction site, a number of other articles from it, including the clothes worn during the various performances and photo sessions, are still available.
