Tyler, The Creator Accepts Best Rap Album Grammy For 'IGOR', Next to His Tearful Mother

It is the mark of the Odd Future genius's the first golden trophy.

Los Angeles, CA – Tyler, The Creator won his first Grammy Award in the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday night (January 26). The Odd Future mastermind accepted the award in the category of Best Rap Album for his fifth studio album of IGOR, which was released last May.

Tyler was previously nominated in the category Best Rap Album for the year 2017 Flowers of the Child, and Album of the Year for his contributions to Frank Ocean's Channel Orange.

As Tyler stood up to give his acceptance speech that brought his mother to Jasper Dolphin, who was shedding tears of joy for his "baby".

"You did a great job of raising awareness of this kind," he said.

Prior to the win, Tyler was asked by a reporter from Rolling Stone about the controversy that revolves around the Recording Academy.
