Tyler The Creator Creates More Confusion About His Sexuality
A figure of speech?
Tyler The Creator has a well-earned reputation for not caring what anyone has to say about him — that leads to a career where listeners have ended up thinking that he is both homophobic and homosexual.
In the most recent turn, Tyler said to Know of the Wave Koopz Tunes radio show in an interview that he had a boyfriend when he was a teenager.
"I had a boyfriend when I was 15 years old in the fucking Hawthorne," Tyler said. "If that is not open-minded, I don't know what that is."
The issue ends there, without any clarification or follow up questions from the host (listen around the 4:10 mark below).
The Odd Future rapper seemed to backtrack on Twitter later, writing, "Figure of speech to get Koopz' 'open mind' point, I was alone in 15 haha."

If he was joking or just saying that he was into guys when he was 15 years old, but do not have a steady boyfriend is still a matter of debate. Regardless, the last clarification that has caused more confusion around the issue of Tyler's sexuality, and he has to expand on the lyrics in interviews.
The comments follow the letter in Tyler (excellent) 2017 album Flower Boy, where he says: "I've been kissing white children since the year 2004."
It has been a recurring theme for Tyler throughout his career. In 2015 it was published the tweet below, although it is impossible to say whether or not that was a joke.
I TRIED OUT THE DAMN CLOSET LIKE FOUR DAYS AGO AND NOBODY WOULD CARE HAHAHHAHAHA
