Women Claiming XXXTENTACION Punched Retracts Its Story
Consequently, the controversial rapper has dropped the defamation and fraud suit against the unidentified woman.
An old video of XXXTENTACION appears to punch a teen girl in the face appeared online last month and the woman in the clip said that she feared for her life at the time of the incident. Now, the woman is claiming she lied.
Accordingly, the defamation claim of the polarization rapper (real name Jahseh Onfroy) was pursuing against her was dropped on Monday (May 14). According to TMZ, the woman sent a notarized letter to X recanting of his original story.
"The video was taken years ago, when Jahseh and I were kids and we were joking," the statement says. "I was not injured as a result of what happened nor negatively affect my personal life."
After the video leak, X, the lawyer was adamant the punch in the video was all "a joke".
X is currently juggling multiple legal problems arising out of a 2016 case of domestic violence. The "Look At Me!" rapper is facing multiple felonies, including witness tampering, aggravated battery of a pregnant woman, domestic violence by strangulation and deprivation of liberty.
